It has more in it than I thought. The idea for these planters is adapted from the book “The Vegetable Gardener's Container Bible” by Edward C. Per the photos and instructions in the book, they look ready. Ed Smith's W-O-R-D system has helped countless gardeners grow an abundance of vegetables and herbs. The Vegetable Gardner's Bible says garlic is ready to harvest in late summer, and it's only the beginning of July. The invaluable resource for home food gardeners! Most of the book gives a detailed look at her 43 suggestions. I also think that the Vegetable Gardeners Bible is a great place to start. With good photos, taken of her own plants, and solid advice, it is easy to see why this is a best seller. It also is a book I reference all the time for the plant specs in the second half of the book. I have this book and found that a lot of the advice is in their other books, such as the Vegetable Gardener's Bible. I hadn't bought it because the Vegetable Gardener's Bible has a similar planting guide, but I don't think it goes into the deep explanation this one does.
